The Power of a Daily Practice

Hi everyone

Welcome to blog post number 4 (:>. Today I'll be talking about The Power of A Daily Practice and how it could help you!

Lets dive right in.

On my journey I’ve found that the single most important consistent change I've made in life is my daily practice! What do I mean by daily practice ?

Well, I’m talking about something to bring me back to center, to connect within, to be clear in my thought, deed and intent and in alignment with Spirit. For others the intent may be slightly different, but the outcome the same: to operate from a centered place, with awareness.

My personal daily practice includes taking time every morning to clear my mind.

I'll find a comfy spot to sit, put my hands on my heart and focus on deep and slow breaths until I feel that calm feeling.

Once I'm feeling fully connected into my body, I then check in on my energy bubble around, and set it with strong intent for the day and what I want to create. Sometimes I'll include a more expanded vision of some bigger picture goals and dreams too. I then finish off with 5-10 things in life I feel gratitude for as gratitude is the 'Universal Shifter'!

You can’t be in a vibration of gratitude and lack at the same time!

Thanks Dalai Lama for that universal Nugget of wisdom. ;> lol

If I have time, I may add in some yoga and stretching, Chi Gong postures or even a run, if I need to ‘move energy’.

Although the basic daily practice is usually only about 10-15 minutes, for me that's still 1000% better than doing NOTHING, like I did for so many years.

I find when I engage this practice, my day flows so much better and I’m able to ‘catch’ my thoughts and reactions before the old 'stuff' is even activated. It helps me stay present, clear and focused, strong and non-reactive.

My practice creates a healthy buffer between my inner world (my internally created reality) and outer world (external reality) and I can CHOOSE to be the man I want to be!

On the days when I forget to employ my practice, wake up late, get sidetracked with the kids or get lazy (insert excuse here), often something will happen; I’ll react and quickly get off center.

Then I'll remember: "You didn’t do your practice today, you’re taking stuff on again! No Thanks" and then I’ll clear and get back to it.

I can actually use my daily practice even later in the day, if I've forgotten it, to bring me back to center too. It's becomes a well worn path of thought/attention/energy!

I encourage you to find your own path and employ the practice that suits you best to connect within you. If you're not sure what that is, just simply take time to 'listen' to your Spirit. Listen deeply and quietly and the answers truly are there inside.

Maybe your practice to begin with is to simply just breathe and listen.

Although mornings are generally the most powerful time for this practice, I’ve recently started doing it before bed too, to clear myself ready for deep and restful sleep. This now includes no screen time 1/2 hour before sleep. I find if my mind is full, or my energy off center, before sleep, I tend to dream instead of getting the deep rest I need. When I go to sleep feeling clear, I generally wake up clear too. Interesting!

Sometimes I’ll even put in a practice at lunch too, if it’s a busy day or I have lots of clients. It’s amazing the power of even a 5 minute check in to 'course correct' and again, the more it's done it easily becomes 2nd nature!

So if you want to change your life NOW, you could actually commit to start implementing a daily practice which can be as simple or complex as you like!

Why not set a time limit to commit for 30 days and see how you feel, remembering that 'practice makes perfect' or at least in my experience, practice makes peace and centeredness (:>.

I'm curious, do you have a daily practice? If yes, what do you do as part of yours? I’d love to hear from you!

Big Love

Jonny Mew
